I ran a variety of youth programs including: school field trips visiting the urban farm, 4-H Program, and Growing Youth Leadership Teen gardening internship program.

COMMUNITY ARTS WORK HISTORY

Art at the Heart Program, Walnut Way: Creator of afterschool arts program for Lindsay Heights Youth at Walnut Way. I designed and taught and brought professional artists in to teach studio arts to youth including Raoul Deal, Mutope Johnson, and others.

In addition, I organized a gallery show for the youth. I also organized gallery site visits and visits to professional art studios such as Reginald Baylor Studios.

ArtWorks for Milwaukee, at Walnut Way:

At Walnut Way I am the site liaison for the mural internship programs. I work with ArtWorks for Milwaukee Program Director to schedule and plan the program site logistics like art studio space, scheduling, mural location, content recommendations, and coordination of installation. From there, their team hires professional artists and teens to compete the project. I work with ArtWorks to plan unveiling celebrations at Walnut Way's Annual Harvest Day festival.

Community Mural Projects, Walnut Way:

I worked with the UWM Cultures and Communities Program to bring a student artist to lead a mural program.  I recruited youth and volunteers to complete the project. Raoul Deal, professor at UWM completed the mural called Keepers of the Garden.
